April Poem #1

The prompt at LeeBee’s was to write a poem about a first.

Hit The Pavement

The shoes are too tight, my shorts are too.
Why am I out here?
Goosebumps on my legs, my arms, my…ew.
One leg up and down, then the next,
This isn’t so bad.

Hundred feet have passed
And I’m gasping and sweating
Just a quick break, the grass looks soft
I decorate it and lay beside my masterpiece

My vision blurs.
I’m never doing that again.

And that’s the poem for today. I promise nothing.
