Did you know that? I didn’t know that! Well, there’s this guy who runs the Poetic Asides blog. It’s at http://blog.writersdigest.com/poeticasides/ and he’s got a neat idea. Robert Lee Brewer (LeeBee as I like to say) is putting up a prompt for people to comment with a poem every day of the month. The idea is to get people to just put some fingers to keyboards and get a poem down.
I like it.
I will probably not crack out a poem everyday, but I will be trying to write some poems during April out of thin air. Here is one I made up the other day, but doesn’t count as it is very short. It is for a book I’d like to publish called “You’re An Awful Child and Your Parents Hate You.” There’s some other poems I’ve written for it.
Advice
Here’s something you ought to try:
Squeeze half a lemon in your eye.
And that’s the whole poem really. But I didn’t write it during April, so it doesn’t count.
